GN ni merupakan unit untuk menunjukkan kekuatan cahaya yang dibekalkan oleh sesuatu flash tersebut. Jika nilai GN besar bermakna kuat cahaya yang dibekalkan. Di bawah ni disertakan bagaimana perngiraan GN dilakukan. Pengiraan dilakukan dengan menggunakan ASA100.<\/p>\n<p>GN = Guide Number,<br \/>\nf = Aperture,<br \/>\nD = Jarak objek dengan flash (bukan jarak objek dengan kamera),<\/p>\n<p>Formula :<br \/>\nGN = f x D<\/p>\n<p>GN mestilah betul sama ada dalam meter atau kaki. Jika ingin melakukan convertion daripada meter ke kaki atau kaki ke meter formulanya ada kat bawah :<\/p>\n<p>GN(ft) = GN(m) x 3.3<br \/>\nGN(m) = GN(ft) x 0.3<\/p>\n<p>Jika kalau guna asa berlainan, penukaran dilakukan dengan pengiraan di bawah :<\/p>\n<p>Film Speed or Sensitivity = Conversion Factor<br \/>\nASA 25 = 0.5<br \/>\nASA 50 = 0.71<br \/>\nASA 100 = 1<br \/>\nASA 200 = 1.4<br \/>\nASA 400 = 2<br \/>\nASA 800 = 2.8<br \/>\nASA 1600 4<\/p>\n<p>Contoh pengiraan :<\/p>\n<p>Contoh 1.<br \/>\nGN flash kita 32, dan jarak kita dengan objek 2 meter, maka pengiraan yang perlu kita buat untuk mengetahui apakah aperture yang sesuai diguna ialah GN = f x D, f = GN bahagi dengan D, 32\/2=16, maka aperture kita sesuai ialah 16.
